Shift Up’s action title Stellar Blade: Complete Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, and it is bringing something Switch owners have been vocal about wanting: a full on-cartridge physical release. The announcement was part of a recent Nintendo Direct, and the details that followed are worth paying attention to.

Pricing and Pre-Order Details

The Switch 2 version of Stellar Blade: Complete Edition will retail at $59.99 / £54.99 for the digital edition, which is available to pre-order now through the Nintendo eShop. Those who want a physical copy have a separate option to look at.

A steelbook physical edition is available to pre-order through Panax, priced at $69.99 / £69.99. Crucially, this is a proper cartridge release – not a Game-Key Card. That distinction matters to a lot of Switch collectors, and Shift Up is delivering on that front. All pre-orders, whether digital or physical, include bonus cosmetic items for the game’s protagonist, EVE.

Four Bayonetta Crossover Suits Confirmed

The release date trailer also revealed that the Complete Edition will feature four Bayonetta collaboration suits for EVE. Three of the suits have been shown so far – a Bayonetta suit, a Nun suit, and a Jeanne suit. According to Shift Up, the fourth suit is being kept under wraps for now.

The Bayonetta crossover is an interesting pairing. Both games sit in the action genre with stylish combat at their core, and the visual overlap between EVE and Bayonetta’s signature looks makes the collab feel natural even if it came as a surprise to many fans watching the Direct.

A Crowded November 5 Launch Date

November 5 is shaping up to be a demanding day for Switch 2 owners. Stellar Blade: Complete Edition is not the only major title landing on that date, which means some players will face tough decisions about where to put their money first. For anyone who missed the PS5 release and has been holding out for a Switch 2 version, this is the opportunity they have been waiting for.

The PS5 original launched in April 2024 and drew a strong audience for its fast-paced combat and strong visual presentation. Bringing the Complete Edition to Switch 2 with all content included gives Nintendo’s platform a version of the game that does not ask players to download anything extra after purchase.

What the Complete Edition Includes

While Shift Up has not published a full itemized breakdown of every piece of content in the Complete Edition specifically for Switch 2, the title suggests all previously released content is bundled in. The four Bayonetta collab suits are confirmed additions on top of the base game package.

For Switch 2 owners who prioritize physical collections and full cartridge releases, Stellar Blade: Complete Edition is a straightforward case for pre-ordering. The on-cartridge format means no mandatory downloads, and the steelbook packaging makes it an attractive shelf piece for collectors. The Bayonetta suit reveal adds extra incentive for fans of either franchise heading into the fall lineup.
